Always thought AZ was one of the most underrated rappers out there, probably because he was always overshadowed by his boy Nas, or probably because he always kept the lid tight and stayed mad underground. I downloaded his debut from ‘95, called Doe or Die, and there are so many gems on this album it’s ridiculous, namely the track by the same name featured here.
The album is so dope, I didn’t skip one track. It’s ALMOST an Illmatic. (—> Looks like I can’t even separate him from Nas myself. I guess this guy is cursed to a life in Nas’ shadow)
So Jay ELectronica decides to release the full length version of “Dear Moleskine”, but the only difference from the previous shorter version is 2 extra minutes of the song’s instrumentals after his verse.
I swear there’s no extra verse. As much as I love jay, this cat can be mad whack sometimes. And while we’re on the topic, when the FUCK is the album dropping? Nigga stop messin’ with us you takin’ long.
